Roadford Lake, just one mile as the crow flies from Germansweek village, is a haven for wildlife. there are bird watching hides on the north side and an adventure park on the south side, The lake hosts both a rowing and sailing club (memberships required) High ropes, paddleboarding and canoeing. On the opposite side of the lake to the adventure park is an excellent cafe and children's playground.
